Greetings
I am wondering where to spend the Dia de los Muertos this year. I noticed in the photos section that Tuscon has a parade. I heard that LA also has quite a celebration. I have never had a chance to partake and I would like some input please.
Thanks
Kaya

Re: Dia de los Muertos locations?
Mon, March 26, 2007 - 5:49 PMThere are quite a few in LA. I went to the one in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery and loved every minute. A TON of altars, music dancing and the fun odd and obscure tombstones. There were also a ton of people there. Which didn't bother me...I actually liked the feel in there with all those people, it felt, well, like anything but Los Angeles.
The altars ranged from traditional to "modern" There is a big one for the Ramones (for some reason that one makes me giggle.)

Fri, April 13, 2007 - 2:47 PMIf you want to really experience what the Day of the Dead is all about, I suggest you go to Oaxaca in southern Mexico. There they celebrate it in the OLD way. I have been many times and am always surprised.

Tue, May 29, 2007 - 5:00 PMPlease check in at our web-site which Gigi listed above. Hotel Congress is right on the route, anything downtown or near the Univeristy of Arizona will be close by. This year we are planning; A community Altar, Friday night Dance of the Dead featuring music and performances, International Photo Exhibit, Saturday night The Procession of the Little Angels, closing Sunday with the All Souls Procession. We hope you will join us. Also look take a look at the folks that make it happen at manymouths.org
Our events are not actual "Day of the Dead" events, although many use them to that way which is fine with us. We welome all faiths and communities to celebrate their ancestors.
You can message me for more info or with questions. -
